WOW! House is a purpose built showhouse located at the Chelsea Design Centre. Launching in 2022, and now in its 2nd year, its a showhouse concept that brings together designers, design brands, and artisans with 18 different spaces created.
I took some time out to visit, be inspired and enjoy the creativity of the brands and designers involved.
The images above show The Drawing Room designed by Vanessa Macdonald. The designers starting point was the fabric show in the chair, cushions and curtains. She combined old and new with antiques alongside contemporary artwork. Her aim was to create a space that was both fitting for entertaining as well as an evening in for 2, and that had a feeling of having been evolved over decades.
Left: The morning room by Waldo Works - the wallpaper being an abstract scene of weather, nature and architecture, was entirely handprinted.
Middle: A chandelier hanging from a thatched room in the Dining Room by Joy Moyler. Creating a sense of drama, the ceiling having been created by a master thatcher.
Right: A mediterranean inspired Salon by Nicolo Castellini Baldissera. Combining rattan, leather, terry cloth, and cushions representing sun, sea and sand.
One of my favourite rooms that instantly felt calming and relaxed. This Principal Bedroom was designed Natalia Miyar, who worked with one of her favourite shades; green. Using 15 different shades, the grey undertones cooling and softening the room, whilst olive shade soothe.
''The perfect bedroom ambience is calming and cocooning with enough character to keep it interesting'' - Natalia Maya
This Christian Bense designed space brought together traditional English architecture with colours and textures of South Africa.
Earth tones, green, burnt orange, with soft neutrals, stonewashed linens and wool boucle. Creates a layered, natural but adventurous feel.
Pretty in Pink & Kitchen - best 2 combos! Henry Prideaux added many layers to this timeless kitchen framework. Velvet bar chairs, extravagant oversized chandeliers above the island, pink cabinet fronts, a pantry bar/wine storage, quartzite counter and of course, a disco ball.
Coastal glamour and regency Hollywood of the 50s and 60s, inspired this Studio Winch terrace. Sculptural shaped furniture, with elegant weaving designed to emulate the longitude and latitude lines, the horizon curves and seaside sails.
A space designed to be playful and vibrant and somewhere too pause and relax.
A fun 'seaside' bar cart with pick and mix sweets to help ourselves to, was the extra playful touch to a bright space.
